Warranty on Blue Star Air Conditioners

Blue Star provides various types of warranties across different product segments in Air Conditioners.

  1. Standard Warranty (SW) of 1 Year, from the installation date, on the entire range of Window ACs, Fixed Speed SACs, Inverter SACs, Commercial Split ACs and Portable ACs.

    Standard Warranty means ‘Repair/Replacement’ of any part of the AC found defective, subject to the confirmation of the technical personnel of Blue Star Limited or any of its authorised service dealers or service associates, due to faulty material or workmanship. It excludes all types of air filters, all plastic, and metal parts and remote handset, as well as defects caused due to improper handling or usage or maintenance of the product or any use contrary to the operations specified in the user manual supplied with the product.

  2. Blue Star shall at its sole discretion will repair or replace such defective product or parts thereof. Blue Star reserves the right to decide at its discretion to replace any defective part with a substitute without affecting the performance of the product. All parts removed by Blue Star shall be the property of Blue Star. In the event Blue Star carries out repairs or replacement of any part during the said Extended Warranty Period, the warranty shall thereafter continue only for the remaining period of the warranty.
  3. Promotional 80 months Warranty means an extension of the warranty period to a total of 80 months or 6 years & 8 months from the date of installation, for those customers who purchase Blue Star Split ACs (Inverter & Fixed Speed SACs) of tonnage up to 2.2 Tr during the promotional period of 10th Feb 2024 to 30th April 2024. This promotional Warranty is applicable for residential usage only and does not apply to commercial or NAMO customers.
  4. This offer will be strictly applicable only if Installation, Extended Warranty Registration & Service are availed through Blue Star authorized Sales & Service Partner or Expert Service Associate.
  5. All sales partners must ensure that product installation is done through the installation ticket raised with Blue Star.
  6. Sales & Service Partners who install the product for the customer must ensure that product registration is done in real-time via WhatsApp or Mobile App. If product registration is done after the day of installation, the system will automatically tag the standard warranty to the product and the customer will not be entitled to the benefits of the promotional offer.
  7. The promotional 80 months Warranty covers comprehensively all repairs, rectification, or replacement of components like Electronic PCB, IDU Evaporating Coil & ODU Condenser Coil. The defective part shall be replaced with a functionally working repaired or equivalent part.
  8. Customer to pay Visit Charges as per the rates in force 2nd year onwards.
  9. Extended Warranty excludes all types of air filters, all plastic and metal parts, remote handset, and gas charging.
  10. Gas charging associated with Compressor/Evaporator coil/Condenser coil needs to be paid by the customer as per applicable rates. However, in such a scenario, the visit charges will be deducted from gas charging charges.
  11. Customer will be mailed a Promotional Warranty Registration letter.
  12. The promotional warranty will not be applicable for installations in areas prone to corrosion. This will be informed at the time of installation and in such cases, the promotional warranty registration letter will not be issued.
  13. Customers are advised to avail of two Preventive Maintenance Services (PMS) per year as per the applicable PMS rates in force. This will ensure product efficiency and a longer life of the product.
  14. Blue Star shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control including delay in repairing due to non-availability of any component or accessory, labor problem, restrictions and regulations of the government, public movement, war and any unavoidable circumstances.
  15. Additional Warranty of 4 Years, on the Compressor on Fixed Speed Window ACs, Fixed Speed High Wall SACs and Portable ACs, on completion of 1st year from the date of installation.
  16. Additional Warranty of 4 Years, on the MCHX Condenser Coil (ODU Coil) of MCHX SKUs of Fixed Speed and Inverter High Wall SACs, on completion of 1st year from the date of installation.
  17. Additional Warranty is applicable only on those components or parts of the relevant product as mentioned above. Blue Star, shall at its sole discretion repair or replace such defective parts thereof. Blue Star reserves the right to decide at its discretion, for replacing any defective part with a substitute without affecting the performance of the product. All parts removed by Blue Star shall be the property of Blue Star. In the event Blue Star carries out repairs or replacement of any part during the said Additional Warranty Period, the warranty shall thereafter continue only for the remaining period of the warranty.
  18. All other terms & conditions shall remain the same as mentioned in the operation manual of the product.
  19. Common Terms & Conditions:

    The consumer should download the ‘Blue Star Customer Care App’ and register with relevant details for availing the standard, additional and extended warranty as applicable.

    The installation of the AC has to be carried out by Blue Star authorised SSD or ESA.

    Customers will have to present the invoice copy to the Blue Star authorised SSD or ESA to avail the benefits under warranties. A soft copy of the invoice or warranty registration copy is also sufficient to avail the applicable warranties.

    All types of warranty will be null and void in:

    (1) Applications where the products are used 24×7 for 365 days (such as ATMs with 1 working AC or any other applications) and usage other than comfort, such as to cool or dehumidify or heat machines or materials.

    (2) Cases where the product or any component has been tampered with or replaced or repaired by personnel other than the Blue Star authorised service personnel.

    Blue Star shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control, including delay in repair due to non-availability of any component or accessory, labour problems, restrictions and regulations of the government, public movement, war and any unavoidable circumstances, specially vis-à-vis the import of supplies and raw material or if Blue Star is otherwise prevented from performing its functions under this warranty.

    The company’s obligation under all types of warranties shall be limited to the repair of part(s) only. The maximum amount of liability with respect to any product related claim(s), if entertained by Blue Star, will be subject to the maximum retail price of the product purchased or the purchase price, whichever is lower.

    All other terms and conditions shall remain the same as mentioned in the user manual of the product except for those covered above.

Installation Terms and Conditions

1. Customers who purchase Panasonic Inverter AC will be eligible for Standard installation of the same Brand.
2. The additional installation charges if required based on Installation location will be charged extra to Customers at the time of installation by the Brand or its authorized service engineer personnel and needs to be paid directly to the authorized service engineer/personnel by Customer.
3. Customers who purchase the Product will be contacted by the Brand for service visit on their registered mobile number by the Brand’s authorized service engineer to carry out the installation after the Product has been delivered to the Customer.
4. Installation TAT will be 2 to 5 business days depending on the location. 
5. Voltage stabilizer, if bought along with the Product, will be installed by the Brand along with the AC, at no extra charge.
6. Standard Installation of AC, covers Fixed Speed Split & Inverter AC: –

a. Drilling of hole in Brick wall for taking out the pipes.
b.Fixing the Indoor and Outdoor Unit.
c. Connecting Indoor and Outdoor units using Standard Kit provided by Manufacturer (at an Additional cost, unless specified otherwise).
d. Wrapping the pipe with seasoning tape.
e. Connection to Stabilizer or Power point in the range of Power Cord Provided by Manufacturer. 
f. Temperature/ Performance Check & Demo and Maintenance tips filling the details in warranty card.

7. The Following shall not be covered under the benefits provided under this Installation Offer: –

a) Outdoor Unit Stand & Installation
b) Extra copper wire if any.
c)Drainpipe extension if any.
d)Plumbing and Masonry Work.
e) Wiring extension from power source to IDU Unit , Power point/MCB fitting and any other electrical work, Carpentry work.
f) Dismantling/Shifting of Old AC’s Masonry, Core Cutting Fabrication and Electrical
g) Any other fitting fixture that the customer desires would be fixed on chargeable basis.
h) Drilling (Core Cutting) or making hole in Roof & RCC for passage of installation piping to be arranged by the customer.
i) Glass Cutting or making hole in Glass for passage of Installation Piping is to be arranged by the Customer.
For any additional work (other than those stated above) customer has to pay extra charges based on site condition.

For Units Installation outside the municipal units of the Company or Authorized Dealer’s Service Centre, all expenses incurred during conveyance will be borne by and payable by the customer.

Standard Warranty Terms & Conditions

Panasonic herein after referred to as “Company”, warrants to the purchaser (“Customer”) of this Air Conditioner (“Product”), free of charge repairs of any part(s) thereof, if proved upon inspection by the Company or any of its Authorized Dealer/Service Centre, to be defective due to faulty material or workmanship.
The above mentioned warranty shall be valid for all functional parts for a period (except Rotary Compressor) for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase mentioned on Purchase Invoice (“Warranty Period”);
For Rotary Compressor in all Panasonic Domestic one to one Split Air-Conditioners up to 5 Ton and Scroll Compressor fitted in One to One High wall split Inverter model up to 2.5 Ton the warranty shall be valid 5 years from the date of purchase mentioned on Purchase Invoice (“Warranty Period”);
For other models of Scroll Compressor the warranty will be valid for 3 years, from the date of purchase mentioned on Purchase Invoice (“Warranty Period”)
This warranty covers only the above mentioned repairs and does not entitle the Customer for replacement of the Product including but not limited to free replacements of cabinets and styling materials aesthetic material frames, plastic parts & accessories. The Company shall provide following
Warranty services, free of cost through its authorized Dealer/Service Centre during the respective Warranty Periods mentioned above
A. Preventive Maintenance:

Preventive maintenance checkup will be carried out three times in a period of 12 months from the date of Purchase Invoice, upon request from the Customer, which will include: General cleaning and brushing up of Dirt and Muck, general checkup of the performance of the Product unit, cleaning of air filter, and checking of electrical parts and components.
B. Breakdown Complaints:

Company will put its best efforts to promptly attend to any breakdown complaint lodged by the Customer. Company will carry out repairs if it is determined by the Company’s authorized service representative that the breakdown is due to a manufacturing defect.
The aforementioned warranty shall be subject to the under mentioned conditions:

1. The warranty is valid only when this warranty certificate (duly filled, signed and stamped by the selling dealer), along with original purchase invoice indicating the date of purchase and the dealer’s name is presented to the Company or its authorized service centers, as designated by the Company. Warranty will not be valid without these documents. Any modification, defacement of or amendment to these documents shall render this warranty void.

2. Warranty takes care of any manufacturing defect or breakdown of the Product during Warranty Period. Company at its sole discretion will repair or replace such defective Product or parts thereof. All parts removed by the Company shall be the property of the Company. In the event the Company carries out repairs or replacement of any part during the said Warranty Period, the warranty shall thereafter continue only for the remaining period of the warranty. Any repairs done or replacement provided shall not extend the Warranty Period for any of the Products.

The Warranty Period is limited as provided hereunder from the date of Purchase Invoice irrespective of the period the Product unit was not in use; was not giving proper performance; was under breakdown; or was under repair(s) by Company’s Authorized Service Centre.

3. This warranty is valid and applicable only in respect of Products which are purchased in India from authorized channel of the Company. Parallel imports are excluded from this warranty. Further, this warranty is confined to the first purchaser of the Product only and is not transferable.

4. The Company reserves the right to decide at its discretion, for replacing any defective part with a substitute without affecting the performance of the Product.

5. This warranty shall not apply with respect to the Products or any part thereof which has been subject to:
Installation/repair by any unauthorized persons or repair/use of this Product or any accessories other than those specified by Company;
Any accident or damage during transit; mishandling, unauthorized modifications, input voltage beyond specifications, riots, commercial use, lightning, use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product/unit, Alteration;
Unit/part(s) Serial No. mutilated, defaced or altered or any damage arising out of unauthorized modification or alteration, repair or use of the Product;
Damage due to fire, flood or such occurrences, water, dust, input voltage beyond specifications;
Damage due to presence of any foreign object or living creature (eg. Rat, lizard, insect, ants, etc.) Inside the Product unit;
Use of harmful chemicals; improper heat load, Usage of unit in an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere;
Any change or defect resulting due to improper maintenance any use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product;
Damage or loss arising out of mishandling or incurred during transit.

6. The warranty on the compressor shall be void if the failure is due to lack of proper preventive maintenance of the unit or if the unit is repaired / attended to by any unauthorized person.

7. While Company undertakes responsibility to replace only the compressor free of cost during Warranty Period. Cost of labor, transportation and other incidental expenditures shall be borne by the Customer after the lapse of first year of Product warranty.

8. The Product is defined to operate at a voltage supply of 230 Volts ±10% & Frequency 50±3 Hz in case of single phase product. Any failure due to operation of the machine beyond the above specified limits will not be covered under warranty.

9. While the Company will make every effort to carry out repairs/replacement of parts at the earliest, it is however made explicitly clear that the Company is under no obligation to do so in a specified period of time.

10. Any defect in the electrical installation or wiring at site has to be rectified by the Customer as per the recommendation of Company’s Authorized service representative.

11. In the event of any unforeseen circumstance, and spares not being available, Company’s prevailing depreciation rules will be binding on the Customer to accept as commercial solution in lieu of repairs, the depreciation rules will be applicable after one year of purchase of the unit.

12. The Company shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any delay or failure in performance resulting directly or indirectly from causes beyond its reasonable control including delay in repairing due to non-availability of any component or accessory, labor problem, restrictions and regulations of the government, public movement, war and any unavoidable circumstances, specially vis-à-vis the import of supplies and raw material or if the company is otherwise prevented from performing its functions under this warranty.

13. For Product units installed outside the municipal limits of the Company or Authorized Dealer’s service center, all expenses incurred in to & fro transportation of unit / parts, lodging, boarding, conveyance and other incidental charges will be borne by and payable in advance by the Customer.

14. To the extent permitted by law, this Warranty and the remedies set forth herein are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, remedies and conditions, whether oral, written, statutory, express or implied. Company disclaims all statutory and implied warranties, including without limitation, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and warranties against hidden or latent defects, to the extent permitted by law. In so far as such warranties cannot be disclaimed, Company limits the duration and remedies of such warranties to the duration of this express Warranty and, at Company’s option, the repair or replacement services described below.

15. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive, exemplary, consequential or economic damage or loss (including but not limited to loss of profits, data, anticipated savings, personal injury and goodwill or business opportunities arising from or related to the warranty). The Company’s liability under or in relation to this warranty shall be limited to the purchase price of the Product or the Maximum Retail Price thereof, as stated on the packaging of the Product, whichever is lower.

16. In the event of any difference or dispute arising with reference to the terms and conditions of this warranty or their interpretation, the same shall be referred to a sole arbitrator, who shall be appointed by the Company. The decision of the sole arbitrator shall be final and binding on the parties. Such arbitration proceedings shall be held at New Delhi and provision of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996 shall apply to the arbitration proceedings.

17. It is an obligatory condition of this warranty that any changes in the location of the Product unit or ownership thereof must be intimated in writing to the Company 10 days in advance and only Company’s Authorized Dealer /Service Centre shall remove and install the Product units on Chargeable basis, failing which, the warranty shall not be applicable.

18. Company’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repair of part/s only. The maximum amount of liability with respect to any Product related claim/s, if entertained by Company, will be subject to the maximum retail price of the Product purchased or the purchase price, whichever is lower.

19. The warranty is confined to first purchaser only & is not transferable.

Extended/Promotional Warranty Terms & Conditions 10 Year(1+9) on Split Inverter Model Compressor

Panasonic referred to as “Company” or “Our” or “We”), warrants to the purchaser (“Customer”) of this Product free of charge repairs of functional part(s) of Inverter Model Compressor (“Product”), if proved upon inspection by the Company or any of its Authorized Dealer/ Service Centre, to be defective due to faulty material or workmanship. This non-transferable warranty is only for the first end user on purchase from the Company or any of its Authorized Dealer. Company’s Authorized Dealer/ Service Centers will repair this Product on the terms and conditions below:

Warranty Period
The Warranty Period is for 10 (1+9) Years on compressor from the date of purchase of this Product mentioned on Original Purchase Invoice. Warranty shall not be considered valid if the above referred documents are not presented or if the information contained is incomplete or the Warranty Card is found tampered.

Warranty Terms

1) 10 (1+9) Year warranty on compressor is applicable only on 2017-2024 (Model Series SKY,UKY,VKY,WKY,XKY,YKY,ZKY,AKY) Inverter Models Purchased after 01st Feb 2018 onwards
2) 10 (1+9) Year warranty on compressor is applicable for sale through all authorized channels of Company.(Exception :For AC purchased in Year 2018( 1st Feb-31st Dec 2018 through Online channel only ,the standard scheme of 1+4 years will be applicable.
3) The Purchaser has to provide original Invoice at the time of availing the repair services.
4) Total Warranty Period on the Compressor is limited to 10 Years from Date of Purchase, irrespective of the Period the Product was not in use or was under breakdown for repair.
5) While Company undertakes responsibility to replace only the compressor free of cost during Warranty Period. Cost of labour, transportation and other incidental expenditures shall be borne by the Customer after the lapse of first year of Product warranty.
6) Repair or replacement will be carried out through the Company’s Authorized Service Centre or its Dealer’s Service Centre. All parts removed/ replaced by the Company shall be the property of the Company. In the event the Company carries out repairs or replacement of any part during the said Warranty Period, the Warranty shall thereafter continue only for the remaining period of the Warranty Period. Any repairs done or replacement provided shall not extend the warranty term for the Products. This Warranty shall not apply with respect to the Products or any part thereof which has been subject to:

(a) Installation/repair by any unauthorized organization/ persons or repair/use of this Product or any accessories other than those specified by Company;
(b) Any damages resulting from un-authorized adaptations or adjustments to the Product;
(c) If the Product/ part(s) Serial No. on the Product is mutilated, defaced or altered;
(d) Any damage to the Product including but not limited to damage by animals (eg. Rat, lizard, insect, ants, etc), input voltage beyond specifications, fire, lightening, water ingress, dust, riots, acts of God (like flood, earthquake, cyclone, storm, etc).
(e) Use of harmful chemicals; improper heat load, Usage of Product in an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere;
(f) Any change or defect resulting due to improper maintenance or any use contrary to the operations specified in the User’s Manual supplied with the Product;
(g) Damage or loss arising out of mishandling or incurred during transit; Any form of damage caused by using external stabilizer.

7) The Company shall not be liable or be deemed to be in default for any non-functional or abnormal function with any external device connected with the Product.
8) While the Company will make every effort to carry out repairs/ replacement of parts at the earliest, it is however made explicitly clear that the Company is under no obligation to do so in a specified period of time.
9) Any defect in the electrical installation or wiring at site has to be rectified by the Customer as per the recommendation of Company’s Authorized service representative. The Customer shall bear the cost of such rectification.
10) In the event of any unforeseen circumstance, where the Company is not able to replace the affected part, then Company’s prevailing depreciation policy will be binding on the Customer to accept as a commercial solution in lieu of replacement of the affected part.
11) Preventive Maintenance Service from 2nd year till 10th year (which will be on chargeable basis) should be done by Panasonic Authorized service partner only, to claim Extended/Promotional Warranty.
12) For Product units installed outside the municipal limits of the Company or Authorized Dealer’s service centre, all expenses incurred in to & fro transportation of unit / parts, lodging, boarding, conveyance and other incidental charges will be borne by and payable in advance by the Customer.
13)This warranty shall not apply with respect to the Products or any part thereof which has been subject to
a. The Product is used in harsh outdoor ambient conditions;
b. any accident or damage during transit; mishandling, unauthorized modifications, riots, commercial use, lightning, use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product/unit, Alteration;
c. Unit/part(s) Serial No. mutilated, defaced or altered or any damage arising out of unauthorized modification or alteration, repair or use of the Product;
d. Damage due to fire, flood or such occurrences, water, dust;
e. Damage due to presence of any foreign object or living creature (eg. Rat, lizard, insect, ants, etc.) inside the Product unit;
f. use of harmful chemicals; Improper heat load, Usage of unit in an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere;
g. Any change or defect resulting due to improper maintenance any use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product; damage or loss arising out of mishandling or incurred during transit.

Extended/Promotional warranty Terms & Conditions for Split Inverter Model PCB (1+4 Years)

1) Warranty extension offer is applicable for selected Panasonic Inverter ACs Model of Year 2018-2024 ; Series UKY,VKY,WKY,XKY,YKY,ZKY & AKY models) subject to invoicing done to the end Customer during specified time period.
2) Warranty extension offer is valid for the customer purchases after 1st April 2019 onwards
3) Warranty extension offer (1+4 extended) on Indoor Main PCB , Outdoor Main PCB only & labour Charges only
4) Warranty extension offer is void if product is opened /repaired by unauthorized service person/ center and the unit shall be declared as tampered and no further warranty shall be applicable on such unit.
5) Transportation of Units if required shall be charged extra during extended warranty period.
6) Warranty extension is non-transferable & is applicable only for the first purchaser.
7) The company reserves the right to withdraw or change warranty extension offer at its sole discretion at any point of time.
8) Warranty extension offer shall be from the date of purchase and irrespective of the usage of AC and shall automatically expire once the stipulated period is over.
9) Warranty extension circular communication supersedes all the previous communications on the said subject.
10) Warranty extension scheme is not Applicable to any Institutional buying / bulk buying / developer’s buying and quantity exceeding more than 5 Nos. at one time.

1) 5 Year Warranty on the Micro Channel Condenser (Aluminium Condenser) Models is applicable only on Purchase made between 1st Jan-20-31st Mar-24
2) Following Aluminum (MCC) Condenser models are covered under 5 Year warranty
Inverter Model: CS/CU-NU18WKYM , CS/CU-YU12WKYM , CS/CU-YU18WKYTM
Fixed Speed Models: CS/CU-YN12WKYM , CS/CU-YN18WKYM , CS/CU- YN24WKYM
3) The Purchaser has to provide original Invoice & Warranty Card at the time of availing the repair services.
4) Total Warranty Period on the Micro Channel Condenser is limited to 5 Years from Date of Purchase, irrespective of the Period the unit was not in use or was under breakdown for repair.
5)In the event of repairs, or replacement of part during the said warranty , the warranty shall thereafter continue only for the unexpired period of original warranty. The defective Part shall become property of company.
6)This warranty shall not apply with respect to the Products or any part thereof which has been subject to:

(a) Installation/repair by any unauthorized persons or repair/use of this Product or any accessories other than those specified by Company.
(b) Any accident or damage during transit; mishandling, unauthorized modifications, input voltage beyond specifications, riots, commercial use, lightning, use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product/unit, Alteration.
(c) Unit/part(s) Serial No. mutilated, defaced or altered or any damage arising out of unauthorized modification or alteration, repair or use of the Product.
(d) Damage due to fire, flood or such occurrences, water, dust, input voltage beyond specifications.
(e) Damage due to presence of any foreign object or living creature (eg. Rat, lizard, insect, ants, etc.) inside the Product unit;
(f) use of harmful chemicals; Improper heat load, Usage of unit in an abnormally corrosive alkaline/acidic atmosphere.
(g) Any change or defect resulting due to improper maintenance any use contrary to the operations specified in the user’s manual supplied with the Product.
(h) Damage or loss arising out of mishandling or incurred during transit.

7) While Company undertakes responsibility to replace only the condenser free of cost during Warranty Period. Cost of labour, transportation, and other incidental expenditures shall be borne by the Customer after the lapse of first year of Product warranty.

Extended/Promotional Warranty on Eco tough Outdoor Casing (Super Dyma) unit 5 Year (1+4) warranty terms and conditions

1) 5 (1+4) Year Warranty is applicable for only Part only for purchase made 1st Jan-20 onwards
2) This additional warranty shall be effective only upon expiry of the standard warranty of 1 year and continue for a period of 4 years from the date of Purchase Invoice.
3) Red Rust Coverage should be greater than 10% of Surface area of the part of out-door unit of the Product on which rust has occurred. In the event of a claim where the red rust coverage is greater than 10% of surface area of the affected part, the said part will be replaced on FOC basis.
4) In the event of any unforeseen circumstance, where the Company is not able to replace the affected part, then Company’s prevailing depreciation policy will be binding on the Customer to accept as a commercial solution in lieu of replacement of the affected part.
